Billing & Payments

Your My LIU portal makes it easy to manage your college finances and to pay your bills online, 24/7, so that you can concentrate on your studies and make the most of your education.

  1. To view your bill, log in to your My LIU account. Your My LIU Student Center page will be displayed. Click on the “Account Inquiry” link from within the “Finances” section, and your current statement will appear.

  2. To pay your bill online by using a credit card or check, click on the “Make a Payment” link from the Student Center home page, or from within the “Account Inquiry” section to access the My LIU Payment Gateway, and pay your bill.

Students are billed for tuition and fees at the time of registration. Room and board charges are reflected at the time of room assignment. Students must make satisfactory payment arrangements prior to the start of each term or before moving into residence halls to remain in good financial standing.

Bills are sent electronically to your MyLIU email account; paper bills are also mailed to your address on file prior to the start of each semester. Click on tabs below for more information about managing your Student Account

Term Bill Available  Bill Due Date
Fall June 1 First Day of Classes

Spring December 1 First Day of Classes

You will receive a Student Account Statement in the mail prior to the start of each term and electronically on a monthly basis to your MyLIU email account that displays your balance due. It is your responsibility to make satisfactory payment arrangements by the payment due date. Only term information is mailed to you; your entire transaction history can be found online using your MyLIU account.

Prior Balance Due
This section displays any balance due from prior terms. If you do not have a past due balance, this section will not appear on your bill. You can refer to your MyLIU account for detailed account activity.

Term Account Summary
This section displays all charges and credits for the current term at the time the statement was generated. Outstanding charges can include:

  • Tuition, fees, room, board, health insurance, and other miscellaneous charges incurred from your enrollment activity and/or room assignment;
  • Federal, state, institutional, and other financial aid disbursed to your account;
  • Deposits and payments made by you or on your behalf; and
  • Refund check(s) issued.

Anticipated Scholarships and Financial Aid
This section illustrates pending financial aid for the specified term. Once approved, it will be applied against charges incurred in accordance with federal, state, and institutional guidelines. It is imperative that you complete all financial aid requirements to have your anticipated aid approved. You must accept or decline any Federal Direct Student Loans or Work Study by logging into your MyLIU account. First time Federal student loan recipients and parent PLUS loan borrowers must complete Entrance Counseling requirements and sign a Master Promissory Note (MPN) to be eligible for funds.

Current Balance Due
This represents a summation of all financial activity as of the statement date and is the amount you must pay or make arrangement for by the payment due date. Please note that modifications to your financial aid package and/or financial aid disbursement rules may change your total amount due. For credit balances, no payment is required.

The calculation of your tuition and fee liability, if any, is based on the date of your official withdrawal in accordance with University policy.

If you register for courses and decide not to attend, you must officially withdraw your registration prior to the end of the first week of classes to avoid liability. You can withdraw online using your MyLIU account through the first week of the term.
